Now, as much as I hate to drill politics into people (probably more than I hate other people imposing their beliefs on me) - this is just so freakin' true. I can't help myself. You've gotta see it. (Thanks, Purse Girl - my Ohio political source)
Now I will not only be visiting the soboclassifieds for my morning coffee news, but also for political enlightenment! :) keep blogging. BG, who's truly stuck in the bubble now.
This is the condensed version of where the hubby currently stands:
- CURRENTLY: PORT IS OUT and SO IS THE CANCER. Damn it feels good to be a gangsta. - He has kicked Stage III rectal cancer's ass - He was diagnosed on June 15th after a fairly routine colonoscopy - He underwent a CT scan and an endoscopic ultrasound for further diagnosis and staging of the tumor - Initial pathology results indicated very early stage adenocarcinoma - The tumor was removed (along with 9 inches of colon) on July 7th - Five lymph nodes were also removed and one tested positive for cancer, meaning it has spread - This positive lymph node booted us up from Stage I to III - PET scan came back CLEAN on Aug. 17th! - Chemo started on Aug. 24th and we completed the 4th treatment cycle on Oct. 5th (with pump removed Oct. 7th) following the FOLFOX regimen - Radiation started Oct. 26th and COMPLETED on DECEMBER 6TH - WOOO-WHOOOO!!! - 8th AND LAST CHEMO COMPLETED ON 2.15.11!!!! YAAAHHHOOOO!!! - NO Lynch Syndrome. (Dodged THAT bullet.) - After the final treatment, the battery of testing starts all over again: colonoscopy, more scans, etc. and waiting and holding our breath for 5 or so years... - It's time to start thinking about that long-awaited ASS PARTY!!! Who's comin'?! - Spirits are great and we are confident that we will kick this cancer's ass. And out of his.
